Etched PTFE Liner -Aokery
medical grade is an amazing non-stick material, but what happens when you need to glue it to the surface of another material? In order to put it on (for example, stainless steel), a process called “etching” is required. Typical applications include the lining of chemical processing tanks or other equipment used in harsh environments. When bonding is required, sodium ammonia is used.Etching is performed by placing the fluoropolymer tubing in a sodium solution. The resulting chemical reaction removes fluorine molecules from the carbon-fluorine backbone of the fluoropolymer leaving carbon atoms that are deficient in electrons. When the etched surface of the material is exposed to air, oxygen molecules, water vapor, and hydrogen allow restoration of the electrons. This restoration process results in a group of organic molecules that enables adhesion
When PTFE needs to be bonded to another surface, such as a stainless steel body for a medical device, etching uses a mixture of sodium and ammonia that is formulated to produce a bondable surface quickly and efficiently. Sodium/ammonia etching services meet all applicable commercial, military and federal specifications for surface treatments of all fluoropolymers including: PTFE, PFA, FEP, ETFE, PCTFE, PVDF, PVF and ECTFE. The process can be accomplished on one or more surfaces or selectively within close tolerances.
Note etched tubing PTFE : The etched surface will discolor to a brown appearance.
Can be etched on one side (EOS) (standard) or both sides (E2S).
We now offer a wide range of extruded and etched tubing PTFE heat shrink tubing in a variety of sizes and wall thicknesses as thin as 0.001. Extruded tubing can be etched for easy bonding; most of our ultra-thin tubing can be used with a tolerance of +/-0.013MM.
Now Etched ptfe tubing liner custom size:ID0.45mm UP as inch ID0.017″ UP, thickness as 0.025mm+-0.01mm inch 0.00098″ .the etched ptfe tubing liner have widely used in large medical device companies such as China Minimally Invasive, Epter and others.
